Road Dogs

Road Dogs

Road Dogs - playing an eclectic mix of rock, soul, rhythm and blues, the band was founded by guitarist Neil Imrie.

The current line-up includes brilliant lead vocalist, ex Saints or Sinners, Mick Cantwell who also plays mean saxophone and harmonica. The band is driven by a first class rhythm section including Bill French on bass and Mike Humble on drums.

An exciting and hard-working band, reviews include: "High Energy ... To Lift Your Spirits" – The Guardian and "Outrageous ability ... seriously hot players" – Darlington Today.

Rothbury Roots

Rothbury Roots logo

Rothbury Roots began in September 2001 when Bill Brown & Terry Wilson, the licensees of Rothbury's Queens Head Hotel, invited a group of local musicians and enthusiasts (including local resident ex-Lindisfarne guitarist Rod Clements) to set up a series of live music nights. Since then Rothbury Roots has gone on to establish itself as one of Northumberland's most popular live music venues, presenting folk, blues, country, jazz and contemporary singer-songwriters in a friendly, intimate setting.

Since the start of 2006 it has been run by local residents Kevin Roberts and Andy Heywood, music-lovers whose passion for bringing top quality live music to Rothbury ensures that Roots remains in the forefront of acoustic music in Northumberland.
